Artist's Description

This beautiful black Percheron was rescued in September of 2016 - 800lbs underweight and filled with fungus on his tail bone, hocks, ears and under his mane on his neck, it took several months for Wild Rose Sanctuary to rehabilitate him. He also had severe injuries to his backside and back legs which kept him from walking comfortable, and not able to run at all. Those injuries with the help of horse therapists hired by Wild Rose Sanctuary are all but healed and Duke makes progress every day. Photographer Amanda Smith of Texas, captured him beautifully in this amazing image of resilience, strength, and power.
